FRANCO FELIZARTA

Dr. Felizarta received his medical degree from the University of the
Philippines College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. He completed an
internal medicine residency and an infectious disease subspecialty residency
at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn. He is
certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine as a Diplomate in
Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
He is recognized as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV
Medicine and as a Certified Physician Investigator by the Association of
Clinical Research Professionals. Dr. Felizarta is a fellow of the American
College of Medicine and Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research. He is
also a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America and American
Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.
Dr. Felizarta is in a solo private practice in Bakersfield, California. He is an
HIV specialist at Kern County Department of Public Health, Santa Barbara
Public Health Department, and Omni Family Health (Kings and Tulare
Counties). He is also an ID specialist at Community Health Centers (San
Luis Obispo County) and California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation Telemedicine Program.
He is the Director of the Antibiotic Stewardship Program at Bakersfield
Memorial Hospital (Dignity Health) and a member of the Kern County
Medical Society Board of Directors.
Dr. Felizarta has research experience as principal investigator in more than
160 clinical trials related to the treatment of patients with HIV, chronic viral
hepatitis and NASH. He has more than 30 publications.
